This 7-day journey through the ‘Land of a Thousand Hills’ combines two gorilla treks with a visit to the unspoilt Nyungwe Forest, home to chimpanzees and 12 different monkey species. Tracking chimpanzee can be arduous, even more so than gorilla trekking, so you need to be relatively fit and prepared to hike deep into the rainforest (between 2-4 hours).
